A funeral service for Tom Paul Drewery, 80, of Gary will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Longbranch Cemetery in Panola County with Minister Ashley Curtis officiating. Mr. Drewery died Sunday, October 11 at a Carthage care center.
Tom Paul was born September 25, 1929 in Timpson, Texas to William Ernest and Inez Green Drewery. A former resident of Houston, he had resided in Gary since 1970. Tom was employed in the construction and home building industry and served with the United States Army. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved to spend time in his garden and enjoyed hunting and vacationing in Wyoming, and helping his friends and neighbors bale hay.
Tom Paul is survived by his wife, Eva, of Gary; his son and daughter-in-law, Gig and Trina Drewery, of Gary; his daughter and son-in-law, Terri Drewery Wallace and Jay, of Gary; grandchildren, Brooke Wallace Shinn and husband Carl, Ryan Wallace and wife Olivia, and Camaron Drewery; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Paige, and Tristen; sister, Betty Crump Duke, of Marshall and a number of nieces and nephews.
