Waynon Adams

Waynon went to barber college and came back to Timpson to work as a barber.  He was drafted into the army during the Korea War.  After his time in Korea he came back to Timpson and continued to barber.  In 1957 he went to Beauty College in Dallas and then went on to earned his instructor liscense.  He then worked fifteen years as a instructor at the Beauty College where he met his wife, Ileta, who was also an instructor.  After fifteen years, he and Ileta moved back to Timpson where he opened the Beauty and Barber Center.  Unfortunately he died in a tractor accident in 2002.

Graveside services for James Waynon "Bunt" Adams, 70, were held Friday, July 12, 2002 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Rev. Douglas McDonald and Rev. Larry Maddux officiating.

Mr. Adams passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at his residence.  He was born May 30, 1932 in the Huber Community in Shelby County, Texas to Willy M. Adams and Lois (Powers) Adams.  Mr. Adams was a barber for 50 years.  He owned and operated the Beauty and Barber Center in Timpson with his wife for 28 years.  He was a barber instructor for 15 years in the Neilson Beauty College in Dallas.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the First Christian Church of Timpson, and also attended the Highway Tabernacle in Timpson. 

He is survived by his wife, Martha Lleta Adams of Timpson, brother, Vernon Pateand wife Jo Ann of Austin, Texas; aunt Dovie Adams of Center;  sister-in-law, Shirley Cunningham of Ft. Worth and Peggy Madduz and husband Larry of Picton, Texas;  brother-in-law, John Williams and wife Bobbie of Panama City, Florida; special friend, John Davignon of Winnsboro, Texas.  From Timpson & Tenaha News-July 18, 2002
