Dr. Ken Caldwell, of Texarkana, TX

Dr. Caldwell was born July 13, 1933 in Bessamay, TX. He was a veteran of the Korean War; a member of First Baptist Church of Texarkana where he was a member of the choir; he was a founding director of Texarkana Community Band, known as Second Time Around Band; and he was owner of Loveall Music Company from 1986 – 2009. As a Doctorate of Music Education, he was best known for Clinicing bands all over the world. He was a guest conductor for All-State-Bands in Texas, California, Arizona, Wisconsin, Louisiana and Arkansas. He has been an international guest conductor in England, Scotland and Switzerland; guest conductor at the Los Angeles Raiders and LA Rams. He opened up the Edinburgh Highland Games of Scotland; and Festival of Fete Des Vignerons in Geneva, Switzerland; and Tournament of Roses Parade.

Dr. Caldwell taught at Timpson, TX, Navasota, TX, Nacogdoches, TX; Weslaco, TX; Arizona State University, Tempe AZ; El Camino College of Los Angeles; University of Wisconsin; Northwestern State University, Natchitoches; and Arizona State in Flagstaff.

Thank you to all his 3815+ students over the 50 years of teaching and directing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jo Caldwell; a son-in-law, Mark Glenn and brother-in-law, Kenneth Childress.

Survivors include his son, Victor Kenneth Caldwell, Jr. of Texarkana; daughter, Stacia Glenn of Texarkana; granddaughter, Peyton Elizabeth Glenn of Texarkana; brother, Michael Caldwell of Midland, TX; sisters, Shirley Roark of Nacogdoches, TX and Judy Smith of Lufkin, TX; and son-in-law's wife, Nelda Childress of Lufkin, TX. And many family and friends.

Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 3015 Moores Lane, Texarkana, TX under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.
