A funeral service for Martha Jane Fletcher, 58, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with the Rev. David Brasher of Perritte Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Blair Cemetery in Timpson, Texas. Martha was born March 12, 1951, to Ben and Winnie Fonville Bearden in Timpson, Texas, and passed away August 20, 2009, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Mrs. Fletcher was a reading and American history teacher at Woden for over 20 years before retiring in December 2008. She knew she wanted to teach American history when she was in the fourth grade, and she was very passionate about it. Her friends always remembered her for all the wonderful cakes she baked, and she loved to bake and cook. Martha is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles Ray Fletcher; and their daughters, Jennifer Shafer and husband, Thomas, and Rebecca Fletcher.
