Sonny James Tippett 
Timpson MBC Cemetery, Timpson, TX

Funeral for Sonny James Tippett, 53, of Timpson will be held at 10 
a.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Sammy Eldredge and the Rev. Dale Reed officiating. Burial will 
follow at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Tippett died May 24 in East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was 
born July 21, 1949 in Elkins, West Virginia to Ron and Dixie Vivian. 

Tippett was a maintenance technician with the Texas Department of 
Transportation for 21 years. He was a member and deacon of Timpson 
Missionary Baptist Church, a licensed auctioneer and coordinator of 
the annual Timpson Frontier Days gospel singing. He was a graduate 
of Timpson High School and attended Panola College. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Gladys 
(Paramore) Tippett and Ollie Shank and stepfather Ron Vivian. 

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Fausett Tippett of Timpson; 
mother Dixie Vivian of Ocala, Fla., son Clint Tippett of Timpson, 
daughter Kristy Tippett Calloway of Marshall; brother Rob Vivian of 
Ararap, North Carolina; sister Denise Vivian of Ocala, Fla.; and one 
grandchild.
