The last time that I can remember seeing Jack was either the summer or fall of 1966. I was living in a dorm and attending college at SFA. On a Friday afternoon after the last class, I decided to come home. Having no car, I started walking. I made it almost to the "silo" there by the bridge. A car passes me by at a very high rate of speed(one of many cars to pass me) then the brakes lights go on!!! I ran to it.. It was Jack. He took me home. This is the last time I can remember seeing or talking to Jack. I sure there was other times that I may have seen him but this is the one that sticks in my memory.

If he had not stopped for me, I might still be walking to Timpson!!!!!!

I have so many memories of Jack Clark that it's difficult to relate just one. Jack and I both loved cars but his were always nicer than mine. We spent most of our free time working on them. Not long after graduation, Jack bought a 1940 Ford coupe and had Murray Moore put a 430 cubic inch Lincoln motor we had found at a wrecking yard in Tenaha into it. It was built for drag racing and had no interior and only the driver's seat. After he got it running he took me for "a ride". No license plates, no inspection, no lights, and four straight pipes running out of each of the front fenders. You could hear that car from Stockman to Rose Hill. Since there was no passenger seat, I just sat on a wooden box and held on to the glove box door. We stopped in front of the high school and he revved it up and dumped the clutch. The front wheels left the ground, I pulled the glove box door off and went rolling all the way back into the trunk. I was scrambling back to my seat when he hit second gear and I rolled back into the trunk again. By then he was laughing so hard he had to let off the gas.

Jack, O'Neal Bryce, Edwin Mims, Larry Windham, Dave Taylor...the Class of 1964 has lost too many of its guys.

I haven't seen Jack since graduation, but I remember him as a really swell guy. I remember in grade school we used to play "king of the hill" out behind the gym and Jack was always king. Nobody could bring him down. I also remember a few times being hear hugged by him when he would wrestle two or three guys at a time.

I remember that 40 Ford. It was high off the ground, best I can remember. He came to my house one day and took me for a ride in that Yellow (and maybe Black) Comet with the 289 in it. I never could sit up straight enough to be able to see where we were going. I stayed plastered to the back of the seat the whole trip. He was a great guy and I'll always remember the special trip he made to my house so I could ride in that hot little Comet.
